Filmed in Plainview, Long Island (as evidenced by the use of the old Central General Hospital as a location), these epics were filmed on 8mm by a buncha soon-to-be sixth graders. In Oyster!, Jeff is the Pringle raft victim. Mike is the hapless, grinning fisherman. I'm the shaggy sea captain. I got my brother's hat all wet. (Don't tell him.) It ends when I catch the killer oyster in a tiny net. (This is unclear in the film.)
In Wizard (no exclamation point), I'm the shaggy, uh, guy. Watch when I drink from the flagon, or whatever you call it. I was very reluctant to actually drink from it, as I don't think it had been washed in ages, so I just sort of poured the water on my closed mouth. Mike is the guy who becomes a wizard to defeat me. Watch for the part in the first swordfight when I accidentally whack him in the forehead. My reaction is out of character. Mike telegraphs the book hitting him for a full two seconds, the wuss, and is utterly incapable of keeping a straight face for much longer than that duration. No CGI, so all in all, better than most of what comes out of Hollywood these days.
