Hawaiian Spear Shore Lunch Attempt #1.
The original plan was to catch a Lobster and then shoot a Mangrove Snapper. Once all of the food groups were acquired, head over to one of my secluded island spots and cook them up for a quick shore lunch. The Lobster was a breeze, the Mangrove was a bit tougher as I was looking for a specific size, but while setting up my temporary kitchen, I kept getting swarmed by No-See-Ums before I could even get off my kayak. Even after checking out a couple of spots, with little to no wind, there was nothing to keep these little buggers from swarming. With no bug spray, I ended up calling off the adventure and decided to head home. Although things didn't work out as planned, I decided to hold on to the Lobster and head back out tomorrow as the forecast is a bit more windy, perfect for shore lunches in the middle of No-See-Um territory. Hopefully it works out the second go around.
